C..h..r..i..s..t

Hello to all our Head Start friends and families.
This week is our favourite week in the Head Start programme, touch. Have you ever thought about how you learnt to like something or dislike something??  Do you remember smelling something  and have it remind you of your Nana, or someone close to you?  This is your sensory system working.

For children touch is their strongest sense and the one they learn the most from. Sensory receptors on the skin send messages to the brain and make new connections. As children grow touch helps them learn about themselves and the world around them. I say let them explore by feeling, smelling, tasting, listening, watching and experimenting with movement.

Check out this story to see how one school is helping children who have Sensory Processing difficulties:

Also not too late to sign up for our Busy Bag night, its shaping up to be a lot of fun :)

Have a great week

Cheers for the Head Start Team
